A Guide to Conscious Parenting, have reached thousands of families across the country. Debra works with teens, parents, and mother-daughter pairs both in person in Sedona and virtually.
- Her Mission: Debra discovered her calling in helping young girls learn to love themselves from the inside out, a passion that led her to author the acclaimed book My Feet Aren’t Ugly, A Girl’s Guide to Loving Herself from the Inside Out. Her teen mentoring and mother daughter retreats in Sedona empower girls to build self-esteem while offering parents strategies to foster harmony. As a parent of two daughters herself, Debra understands the worries of raising teens and is devoted to guiding families through these turbulent years with compassion and expertise. Her second Book, What If Your Teen Isn't the Problem? A Guide to Conscious Parenting, was written to help parents work through their own fears so their teens will stay close.
- Experience and Impact: With decades of experience as a parenting coach and mentor, Debra addresses the toughest challenges facing teens and parents today—communication breakdowns, self-doubt, and family dynamics. Hi Parents,
My journey into self-development began at 26, after my mother’s passing left me at a crossroads. Newly divorced and raising two daughters, ages 4 and 5, I felt the weight of an uncertain future pressing down on me. Yet, the seeds of my growth were planted much earlier—at 13, when I nearly lost my mom to cancer. Those teen years were a storm of bullying, ADHD, and Dyslexia, leaving me isolated and wrestling with self-doubt, convinced something was deeply wrong with me.
Through over 30 years of personal healing, I’ve learned to embrace myself fully, turning old fears and limiting beliefs into opportunities for growth and self-love. For more than 30 years, I’ve channeled this into my work at Empowered Teens and Parents, offering mother-daughter retreats, workshops, mentoring, and online courses. Having lived both as a struggling teen and a worried parent, I bring a compassionate heart to every family I guide, helping teens find their strength and parents build lasting connections. I’m now based in Sedona, Arizona, where I continue this work with joy.
If you are tired of having the same conversation and getting nowhere, I would love to talk.

Big love, Debra
